The supplemental is simply a new Google experiment. As you know we're always trying new and different ways to provide high quality search results," said Google spokesperson Nate Tyler.
Supplemental results are part of Google’s auxiliary index (main results are drawn from the main index) and pages, which appear on the supplemental listing, have “fewer restrictions” than those that appear on the main results page.
Its not an index of bad or penalized websites but its the index of sites that not have the required importance to be listed in main index. Google’s supplemental index is a valley of death, and pages included in this index is rarely included in regular search results. The Google Supplemental index is where they put web pages with little trust and they aren’t going to rank for anything important.

How to Optimize Flash Website for Search Engine
Flash website can be a perfect showcase from user point of view. It can increase sales. A flash website attract the customer to buy any products or services. But flash sites are not Search Engine friendly. It makes my job harder. But flash sites are best platforms to show your products or services to your customer. For website owners perception and presentation is important, without a pretty site they can't sell the world's best product or service.
I have learned some very effective ways to optimize a flash website.
Crawler based search engines still prefer html sites. But if you embed your glitzy flash movies into your content-rich HTML, you will still get the benefits of optimization. While search engines like Google and FAST engines like AlltheWeb, InfoSpace are getting better at extracting links from flash sites, it is still very difficult for them, and other third party search engines have made no mention of extracting useful information from Flash. Yahoo claims they can read .swf files, but there is no such progress in their real time search results which can prove their point.
A better way to incorporate Flash is to first create an HTML site, and then use Flash movies in place of images, buttons, and banners. These areas are usually of little importance to a search engine anyway, so it seems fine to do it this way. In which case, optimizing this type of site is no different than optimizing a plain HTML site.
Just as you would caution against using images for your important text, keywords, and other important aspects of your site, the same reasoning applies to Flash in these cases. If you are using several competitive keywords, then you will be well advised to split your pages up by topic, instead of using one web page, and then using multiple Flash movies for each page.

How to Index your Website Within 24 hours by Search Engine
I have been trying to find out the minimum indexing time of a search engine. I have tried with blogs, social media sites, forum posting and some other ways to get indexed fast by search engines.
The fastest way to index your website with in 24 hours would be to listed as a link on a site which has a page rank of 6+ or a website that receives a high volume of traffic. All major search engines regularly index page rank 6+ webpages.
If you get some very trusted and relevant back links, and on top of that you also have a very efficient internal link structure, all your internal pages will get indexed fast.
Using the manual URL submission to Google will have a small impact upon the speed and breadth of your indexation. In fact many people recommend that if you want to get a site indexed fast you should NOT use that feature, and rather focus on getting some trusted back links to your site.

Yahoo SEO Tips - How to optimize website for Yahoo
I am very much interested to know about website optimization tricks & trends for Yahoo. I heard so many times that yahoo penalize if your site advertise with Google AdWords. But it is not a true statement.
Recently Darryl Peddle, who claimed employment at Yahoo, said "As an employee at Yahoo I can tell you that advertising on Google will in no way affect your rankings in Yahoo… that’s completely inaccurate. Why would we reduce our quality by dropping relevant sites and advertisers?"
Darryl Peddle also said - "domain aging is becoming a solid way of determining a sites long term value and quality score. It is just one of many (100+ factors), but it’s becoming more important nowadays."
Here are some tips from Darryl, followed by my own opinion and feedback:
- Register your domains for 2-5 years, not 1 year
This is something that has never really been cleared up by the Search Engine’s on the fact of whether it makes any difference or not, people state they can ‘tell why it would be an effect’, in order to make it look like you aren’t going anywhere. If the length of the registration for your domain really is a ranking factor then its a very minimal one at that and not something you should be majorly worried about.
- Avoid buying domains with multiple dashes
Sites with multiple dashes appear spammy, are hard to brand and are harder to remember, which is much more important to take into consideration instead of some slight ‘SEO boost’.
- Begin to obtain relevant links from high authority pages as soon as possible
This is one I found a little ‘interesting’. Of course its not all that difficult to find out which sites the Search Engines may consider as an authority in your niche, however its certainly not going to be easy to obtain links from these high authority sites without purchasing them (although that is an option). Emailing authorative sites rarely results in a reading never mind getting them to link to your site for nothing in return.
- Beware who you link out too
I agree that this is an important Tip, Search Engines are unlikely to penalize you or your website for the sites that link too you (unless extreme cases) but are going to penalize you for sites you link too such as linking to link farms or sites in ‘bad neighborhoods’.
- Regularly update site content and shuffle featured content
For the second part of that statement I’m not sure how much added spider activity shuffling featured content makes, unless its completely new featured content and not re-ordered content on the page. Regularly updating content will increase spider activity on your site and will result in faster updates. Faster Updates in my opinion are normally only beneficial for sites that can rank well for even things such as a blog post as otherwise you aren’t missing much traffic if the Search Engines haven't updated your content recently.
- Use Yahoo Site explorer to monitor your site and your competition
Yep, you knew something to do with Yahoo had to come in eventually, but who can blame them. I’m actually a big fan of the Yahoo Site Explorer and only wish Google had something similar in place.
- Write quality articles and submit them to article directories
Top SEO Tip? I suppose you can gain a fair share of backlinks via this method and also some traffic if you’re lucky.
- Do use Press Releases
I would first like to comment that only use a Press Release if it actually has some decent information and its going to be a benefit rather than a drawback. I have seen many companies face drawbacks or Press Releases due to poorly written content or little or no information in the actual press release. If you do in-fact have something to say then they may be perfect for you.
- Just recently I had two people tell me that they believe - in fact are almost certain - that due to recent changes at Google their site rankings were penalized because they purchased ROS links from a text brokering service.
I wouldn't be surprised if Google found site-wide links on another site to be ‘fishy’ so maybe it is good advice if that you are buying links to only buy them one one page of a site?
- Build your links gradually, mix up the anchor text
Definitely agree with this one in terms of mixing up anchor text. The only time you have control over this of course is if you are submitting links to directories and such, so when you get the chance try not to keep the anchor text or ‘title’ of the links the same.
- Standard on page SEO is enough
Mentioned are things such as Title Tags, h1 headings, static URL’s and proper link structure. If none of this makes much sense then check out this link . I agree you shouldn't have to go over the top with on-page SEO as backlinks tend to be the most important thing these days as long with general quality content.
- Avoid Search Engine Forums and areas where kids and beginners with no experience spread bogus rumors
I have to agree with this one a lot and I can definitely relate to it. I see some people on Digital Point forums give the craziest advice and just because they have 3-4 figure post counts people will tend to believe them which is a shame, there aren’t enough hours in the day to correct people so always take advice with a pinch of salt and test it yourself if possible or get advice from more credible sources.
- Avoid auto-page generators at all costs
I guess this point is really saying keep your content unique and original and you will be just fine, nobody is really certain how Google’s or any other search engine for that matters ‘duplicate content’ flags work so its best to keep yourself in the clear
- Do have a long term SEO and Content plan
It is important to remember that SEO does take time; we all know its frustrating when you feel you have a better website and content then your competition yet they are getting all the search engine traffic. If you plan to release new unique content over a long period of time and build trust with your website visitors then links will happen naturally. It is not worth trying ‘blackhat tricks’ or something some guy on some forum told you to beat the sandbox affect. Measures are in place for a reason.

Bing SEO - How to Optimize Your Website For Bing?
Microsoft launched new search engine Bing with several new features. Bing went live in June 2009. It does not matter whether Bing is going to be the new number 1 or number 2. The fact is, Bing is definitely going to capture a bigger market share compared to its predecessor MSN Live. Tech Crunch reported that Bing users are more likely to click ads than Google users. So it is important that you know how to optimize your website for Bing.
Have a look of the following tips to get your website rank high on Bing:
I recommend joining Bing's webmaster centre which you can access using your Windows Live ID.
* Target not more than 2-3 keywords per page
* Make sure the title is relevant to the content of the page. Title tag optimization is very important when it comes to Bing optimization. Place important keywords at the start of the Title and make sure that the keywords you use are relevant to the content of the page. Use unique tags on each page
* Use unique description tags on each page
* Use H1 tags
* Use text navigation links
* Create content for your human visitors, not the Bing web crawler
* Incorporate keywords into URL strings
* Name your HTML pages properly. If a page is talking about Web Design, you should name your file as "Web Design.html", using hyphen to separate each word. Using important keywords to name your files will definitely help in Bing optimization.
*Bing tends to like older domain names. So you choose the right domain name from the beginning so that you don't need to change it after a year.
*Add more content to your website. Search engines love content, especially Google and Bing. So if you have articles, post them onto your websites. If not, add a blog to your site and update it regularly.
* Keep your URL simple and static. URLs that change frequently are difficult to index. So make your URL static and keep it as simple as possible. Remember to place keywords in your URL.
* Build links. Link building is an important process of SEO. If you want to rank high on Bing, get other sites to link back to your website. Bing will see your site as popular and reward you with high rankings.
So start optimizing your website for Bing today and get more traffic to your website.
